i attacked the crap out of lap 1....i hope you saw it. i then sat up front and tried to drive the pace a bit on climbs, and then totally blew up on the last climb, on wondered why my legs were feeling tired....

you are probably right. there was 1 guy clear. then 2. then my group. that was at the finish. on the climb, i was with the 2 guys, but blew. i dont really remember when the next group caught me, i thought the descent, but i could be wrong, it was all a big blur.

or, if you were low down on the hill, 2 guys attacked on the flat right before the climb (neither of them climbers) and i was sitting in the 3rd group, they got caught somewhere on the climb, and the mvoe of those 2 guys (well i was with them, so 3) was a counter.....i think, again, all blury

regardless, thanks for coming out and for the support. There were a few people on that climb screaming things, and it really helped me suck it up and ride.

i have never been in a situation in my life where a cowbell wasn't the appropriate sound device.

my memory of that climb = wow, im hungry, followed by, wow, my legs hurt, and then, hm, i better go now, and then 4 miles had passed and the race was over. with a healthy dose of cowbell, screaming, and my name (once or twice) thrown in between the base of the climb and the finish.
